I just received a call from one of my relief society sisters asking me if I would be in charge of our wards "Super Saturday" in october! what, me? are you kidding? i am the type of person to pay for a craft that someone else has made. UGH!
So i'm asking, no PLEADING, with everyone who reads my blog, HELP! i need to come up with ideas for our meeting which is coming up in the next month and i know alot of you are super talented. (believe me, i read all of your blogs!) let me know if you have made anything fun, creative, useful or exciting that you would like to share and let me know how much it would cost to make. my ward consists of alot of old women mixed in with young moms, so i need something that would appeal to all ages. thanks for your help:)

Hey ann,
For our ward we made those wooden signs with your last name and then Families are forever on top.
It was super easy all you had to do was paint the board, and rub on both sets of lettering. It only cost us $10-16 dollars (I think). The guy who supplies it lives in UT. I will find out more info if you want.
that would be great! thanks!
Annie,
Just make a lot of assignments to people. I have found that people are usually more than willing to help.
There is a store in Salt Lake that has wooden crafts that you can buy in large quantities and then paint at your activity and put together. Also, we had a lady come and do the big magnet boards and she brought all of the supplies and helped everyone complete their projects.
Let me know if you want me to get you some names and numbers!! Hang in there; you will be GREAT at putting Super Saturday together!!
Katie
Hey Annie,
It's me... Annie (Dugal)Lawson. I am actualy was in charge of a super saturday last Oct. we did a few vinyl crafts (FHE boards and vinyl quotes on tile), etching your last name in a 9x13 pan (that one was a big hit for all ages!), File Folder games, and a station with free cards to make. Anyway, probably more info than you wanted... I also have pic. of the crafts if you are interested! Good Luck!
hey annie:
more info and pics would be great! thanks alot:) it so good to hear from you too!
Sorry, I don't have any ideas. I'm not creative...
But, I have a favor to ask of you. I see that Mitzi has a blog, but you has to be invited to it. Will you pass the word along to her that I'd love to see it, please?! my blog is oneaneonemakesfour.blogspot.com, and my email is tiffarbuckle@yahoo.com. Thanks a bunch!!!
Yikes! Sorry, no real ideas but maybe if I think about it for awhile. I will let you know. Love all of your pics though!
Wow...what a stressful thing to be in charge of! Nothing comes to mind right away, but I will definitely think about it and let you know! Good luck in the meantime...
Okay, I took my first one off, because I thought of something else! Have you ever modge podged? Seriously, it's the greatest thing ever. You just get an unfinished flat wood frame (At Michaels, the small ones are only $1, and the price goes up from there. You get modge podge & your favorite scrapbook paper, and then modge-podge the paper to the frame. Then you can decorate it with ribbon, buttons, and use distressing ink to antique it. It's darling! Call me if you want to see one! I did one for Carter's room, and it's so cute!
I would love to help you but I'm afraid I'm not very crafty. I will keep my eyes out and let you know if I see anything. I agree about the Modge Podge though, it is my favorite thing to do.
I love super saturdays! The only suggestions I have would be the things you already know about from our old ward. I will think about it and get back to you.
Here are just a few ideas!
-Frames: You could paint or mod podge them with scrapbook paper
-Card Making
-Recipe Boxes: Cover in paper and ribbon
-Photo Albums
-Vinyl Lettering On Tiles
-Wooden Fall Decorations: The Wood Connection in Salt Lake sales tons of wooden crafts!
-Floral Arrangements
Well that is all I’ve got! Good Luck with everything! We have done some of these crafty projects in my ward!
What up Hewlett's. I don't know how I found you, but I did. You guys look great. Cute kids. Check out our blog... http://thekawarangers.blogspot.com I hope you don't mind, but I added you to ours. Later, Kato.
Hey Annie,
Go to Tipjunkie.blogspot.com and executivehomemaker.com
They are both LDS women that have great ideas for Relief Society, stay at home moms, & enrichment.
some of my ideas are:
Hooded towels for children with ribbon sewn on ends. Just sew on a hand towel for the hood.
Kitchen towels, sew ribbon on ends that match your kitchen.
Sew fabric on onesies to look like a tie.
flower headbands for girls
eye spy bags
candy lei's
GOOD LUCK!!
I just finished with mine. I am on the enrichment committee, and I can show you what we did, as well as give you directions. Email me, and I will send you pictures! brooklyn1416@yahoo.com.
Also, there is a place with those vinyl words and plaques in Bountiful, kind of by J&L garden center on 500 West. (just a bit more north) and they will actually come and teach the entire project for you. All you have to do is have the ladies sign up. They bring the wood/tile, the vinyl, and you have supply paint (and most RS closets have a ton of that!). The average cost was $9.00

PS: I saw you on TV, and you and your sister were DARLING. Ahhhh spirit fingers... memories, memories.
PPS: In response to the moore's comment, that place is called wood connection, and she is right. It is a great place. I have a coupon in my email right now if you want it. There is a bunch of stuff on sale! It is on 300 West just south of 6800 South.
