Sunbeams

My new calling in my ward is the sunbeams teacher. I have all boys in my class but only about 3-4 show up regularly. I've taught the sunbeams before in other wards and i love/hate it. Love the kids, the lessons, their stories but hate babysitting and disiplining.(?)
I just thought I'd share a couple of funny comments in my class on Sunday...
Ashton: as he was itching himself ALOT "down there"(wink) he said to me, "Teacher, my peanuts hurt"
Omner: (yes, that's his real name) My mommy has a baby in her belly and every time I jump on it, the baby laughs.
Ashton: saying the prayer... "please bless gma that she will not fall down the stairs anymore"
Hunter: what did you bring for snacks... I'm hungry!

gotta love sunbeams!

Sunbeams! The calling you love to hate and hate to love. I had that for five years. (And my ward wonders why I waited seven years to have a baby...) Don't the little rascals just make you laugh? Sometimes they do the funniest things. Hallie looks like a mini me of you.

Gotta love those little ones. I can't wait until Carter is big enough to embarass me with the things he says.

They are SO darn cute at that age. I teach CTR 5 and they have quite a few funny things they say each week too.

Once i was teaching sunbeams and a little boy said, My mom had the worst diarrhea this week! she had it so bad this morning too!

Train my kids early to NOT talk about home life! hahahah hilarious!

that is so cute, its true kids say the darndest things. When I hear Hallie sings, she says words that she thinks the songs says, so more than likely the boy thought it sounded like peanuts. haha I love that. I used to get whats wrong with your face? and Just have to tell them the truth about my scars, they just have no concept of things. vicki said when court was 3 there was a fat man on the street & court asked him if he had a baby in there. i thought that was so cute, man didn't think so

Gotta love/hate the sunbeams! I know Charlie's teacher has got to feel the same way. One week he's great and cute the next week he's pulling her hair, giving her bad looks and won't sit down with his class(ok so this was obviously yesterday.:)) I feel so bad for her! I teach CTR so I have to sit there and witness it all and deal with him when he comes crying to me. So I admire you for teaching/babysitting the sunbeams!

Haha. Gotta love it. I had one of my little girls pat my chest with a big smile on her face and said, "you're going to have a baby!" Have fun with your new calling.

These had me laughing out loud at my computer!! I love it!! Jer and I taught Sunbeams in our old ward too, and one of our first experiences with the little kids was having one of the little girls choke on a lifesaver in class. How did she get that lifesaver, you ask? Oh, you betcha, we gave it to her for a treat. We obviously didn't have kids of our own at the time. We've since learned our lesson. And her mom still doesn't know to this day.
