California

Brett and I decided to surprise the kids for their birthdays(the 10th and 21st of Sept) and drive to California. We spent 2 days at Disneyland(one day was Cole's 3rd bday), 2 days at the beach and the rest of the time we just relaxed and had a great time with each other. This was our first time spending more than one day at Disneyland and it was a perfect time to go too, the weather was awesome and the lines were not too long. We also got to spend time with Gma Emily who lives in California. she came and played with us for a day at Disneyland and all Hallie wanted to do was ride "small world" with Gma.

Cole actually posed like this all by himself!

funny story about Bretts Ute shirt... we were standing in line at Small World when the family in front of us asked if we were from Utah. I immediatley said yes and then asked him how did he know... do we stick out like sore thumbs? he looked at me like Im crazy and then nodded to Brett and said " just a wild guess, and also your husband is wearing a Utah Ute shirt".... Hmmm its confimed, im an idiot!

Hallie got to meet Aladdin and Jasmine and Princess Tiana, she even told Princess Tiana how pretty her dress was! we are so proud of her too because she went on "big" rides with dad. Thundermountain (my personal fave), Matterhorn and Splash Mountain... hopefully next time we go, Cole will be tall enough to ride them too.
and all Cole wanted to do was shoot Zurg with lasers.

we also got to spend time with family and friends... my BFF Hailey and her husband and cute little boy Sampson live in Cali so we had to get together! we went out to eat (that's what we do best) and then visited the Santa Monica pier and the Promenade. so fun!
this picture was the only good one out of the 10 that I took! these kids would not stop moving... thanks Hay for the fun night, my kids loved it and so did I!

Brett, Gma Emily, Cole, Me, Hal, Trish, Matt, Sophie and baby Emily

My family! Matt and Sophie were nice enough to invite us over for dinner one night. We got to meet baby Emily and talk about whats been happening since we last seen eachother. Thanks again Matt and Sophie, we always have fun when we get together. A big thanks to Gma Emily for meeting us at Disneyland and spending the day with us. It means so much! We love you all!!

Brett also talked us into going to the Rose Bowl to watch UCLA play. The food was amazing and so was the atmosphere
and thanks to aunt Steph for letting us and 2 crazy kids crash her apartment for a week, it was fun to hang out with her and see her new surroundings. Thanks again Steph! Your room at our house is ready anytime you need it! HA!
All in all, the trip was a success. It was nice to have a week by ourselves to do what we wanted and to be with our kids. Happy Birthday Hallie and Cole - we love you both soooo much!
